The 40th: Nghe An Province – A City Eager to Attract FDI (Foreign Direct Investment)

When manufacturing companies enter Vietnam, choosing the right industrial park in a specific region is a crucial point. There are provinces and cities that are actively working to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), and I would like to introduce a few examples of these regions.

This time, we would like to introduce Nghe An Province, which is attracting attention due to the development of the Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP).

1. Location, Area, and Population

Nestled in North Central Vietnam, Nghe An Province spans an impressive 16,486 square kilometers and is home to around 3.42 million residents.

3. Unique Features of Nghe An Province

Nghe An boasts a diverse landscape that stretches from the beautiful coastal plains bordering the Gulf of Bac Bo to the rugged terrain along the Lao border.

It is famously known as the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh and is conveniently located just an hour’s flight from Hanoi, making it an increasingly attractive destination for new investments.

4. Japanese Companies Operating in the Area

Prominent Japanese companies making their mark in Nghe An include Matsuoka Corporation (located in VSIP Nghe An Industrial Zone) and Aska Foods (based in WHA Nghe An Industrial Zone).

5. Living Environment

Today, over 300 expatriates from North America, Europe, South Korea, Thailand, China, Taiwan, and Japan call Nghe An home. Many reside in Vinh City and the Quynh Luu district, just a short 20-minute drive from the WHA Nghe An Industrial Zone. For instance, the average rent for a furnished two-bedroom apartment in downtown Vinh City ranges from $250 to $300 per month, offering exceptional affordability. With its favorable living conditions and low cost of living, Nghe An is an appealing choice for many. The province also features a variety of recreational options, including golf, fishing, tourism, swimming, and soccer.

6. Summary

In recent years, Nghe An Province has emerged as a key player in the industrial landscape of Vietnam, thanks to large-scale developments by foreign investors such as VSIP (Singapore) and WHA (Thailand). With its strategic location, robust industrial zones, and attractive living conditions, Nghe An is poised to be a significant hub for future investments.
